School Education within burnt forest area

Short description:

The Environmental Education Center of Akratas (Peloponese, GR) created a educational program for schools after the fires of summer 2007. This program is called “REGENERATION” and is carried out inside the burnt forest. A message of hope.

ACTIVE FAMILIES FOR A BETTER EUROPEAN AWARENESS (IT)

Short description:
A project lead by the Italian NGO LEGAMBIENTE aiming at raising awareness on the safeguarding of the environment amongst European families with children and at stimulating an active participation.
The main tool is the cultural exchange between different generations of citizens from member States and from candidate countries of the European Union.

Reciclario

Short description:
From January to June 2007, Vertigem and IPJ (Portuguese Youth Institute) of Leiria developed a project called "Reciclario". Reciclario is a fashion contest for creation of clothes recycling old material.

The objective was to show that from old materials, rubber, plastic and others, you can create fashionable objects.

Şırnak Province Akçay Village Rural Development and Erosion Control Project

Short description:
Aim of the project: To prevent the agricultural malpractices and the misuse of the agricultural fields, to promote the improvement of livestock breeding, to ameliorate the socio-economic status of the villagers. Starting date: 2002, Finishing date: 2005.

A Call to the World from Karapınar, Turkey: DO NOT BECOME A DESERT !

Short description:
Drylands Environmental Sustainability Integrated Research Areas (DESIRE) project of TEMA Foundation (Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats) has been awarded by the Mitsui 2006 International Environment Fund. Japanese Mitsui & Co., Ltd, has a history of 130 years, is based in Tokyo, and has overseas offices in 72 countries involving various sectors and supports many environmental projects. The DESIRE project was selected for funding among hundreds of applications around the world.

Short description:
The project is about fruit seeds. First TEMA did announcement about this project to people by leaflet, newspaper advertisement and poster etc. They say that: Do not throw away fruit seeds; if you put these fruit seeds to garbage, they will be disappeared. But if people overshadow and dry these seeds; in fall we will put them to soil. Fruits are not only for human, they are useful for other animates.

Edirne Province Havsa District Azatlı Village Rural Development and Erosion Control Project

Short description:
Aim of the project: To prevent the agricultural malpractice, to ameliorate the socio-economic structure of the villagers by promoting the agriculture and livestock breeding and to combat the soil erosion. Starting date: 2001, Finishing date: 2005. The Project was done in Edirne Province Havsa District.
